If the question is would I buy myself lunch -- when I wasn't at all hungry -- at a restaurant if, when I was pulling up to the cafe I like to work at, I saw the gym girl I'm fond of entering the Chipotle next door -- just so I might have a chance to talk to her?
The answer is yes.
And yes, I talked to her. I made a joke about how she looked really familiar.
And yes, she recognized me, but no, she was not at all interested in my shenanigans.
But strangely, I didn't end up eating alone.
One of the managers from the cafe next door had just sat down, so I asked if I could join him for lunch. He said yes.
And we had a great conversation.
